The next meeting of the series Świat i okolice invites you to Ethiopia. In Poland this country should be at least a bit known, because it was about him written in his bestseller Emperor Ryszard Kapuściński, telling about the court of the ruler of the country Haile Selassie, who died in 1975. Ethiopia is considered the cradle of Christianity, but also, as some claim, the cradle of humanity. There are about 30 thousand churches and monasteries here. There is also the found skeleton of Lucy, a woman 3 million years ago, which is now located in the National Museum in Addis Ababa, the capital of the country. For Ethiopia very important is her Christian tradition, supposedly here was the biblical paradise and here lies somewhere the Ark of the Covenant. This country is also a very wide variety of languages, traditions, customs, numerous tribes living mainly in the south. During the meeting you will get to know its extremely rich flora and fauna, which differs significantly from the neighbouring Kenya and Tanzania.
