The March edition of the “Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week”, which will feature a collection of designers from the Fall / Winter 2019 season, will take place on 22 – 29 March 2019. This time, there will be several show locations and a new showroom format. In addition to the main showcase, the so-called Fashion Templa, which will be on the fifth floor of the Kotva department store, many artists will present themselves at other locations. These include the Lobkowicz Palace, Four Seasons Hotel, and DUP39.
Twenty designers and brands, three school studios, and four finalists from the young design contest VAN GRAAF Junior Talent 2019 will host shows for fashion week. These include Miro Sabo, Petra Balvínová, Petra Ptáčková and one of the largest clothing brands in the country, Pietro Filipi. Two new designers – Božidara and Vanda Janda – will be among the newcomers on the MBPFW scene. The future generation of designers will be represented by two studios of UMPRUM (Fashion and Footwear Design by Prof. Liběna Rochová and Pavel Ivančice Fashion Design Studio), and also by the Studio of Clothing Design at Tomas Bata University in Zlín.
The January performance of Zuzana Kubíčková in Madrid is the framework for the international exchange program, Mercedes-Benz International Designer Exchange, and will be followed by the Prague performance of Spanish designer Melanie Freire Vázquezová. “The exchange program allows designers to confront their work and share concepts with foreign colleagues. We consider the opportunity to show ourselves and our work from a new perspective to be one of the fundamental benefits of fashion week,” says Marc Boderke, Director of Mercedes-Benz Cars ČR.
In addition is the brand-new, upcoming edition of MBPFW, which will now include a sales event focused on customers. This pop-up will take place on the premises of the Four Seasons Hotel from Saturday, 23 March to Tuesday, 26 March 2019, from 1 pm to 9 pm. The showroom will take the form of a pop-up of the Slovak concept Priveé Lounge, which has been offering exclusively Czech and Slovak fashion in Bratislava for more than a year. Several designers – Adam Kost, LAFORMELA, Michael Kováčik, Miro Sabo and Zuzana Kubíčková - will create a capsule collection for this occasion. The extraordinary collection will be Adam Kosta’s, which will offer women’s fashion exclusively for the pop-up Priveé Lounge. .
