Opera performance on the night when music has extraordinary power. Midsummer Night, formerly known as Kupala Night, is a holiday not only deeply rooted in Slavic customs but also includes Celtic, Germanic and Indo-European elements. Celebrated during the summer solstice, it was a festival of unity, the union of fire and water, harvest, love and joy, full of magic and divination. The programme of the concert “Midsummer Night's Opera” includes exceptional arias, duets and opera ensembles that reflect the unique atmosphere of this exceptional night, when the elements of water and fire meet, and the longed-for fern flower is supposed to bring happiness in love. The evening will be filled with love-themed compositions from operas and operettas, Neapolitan repertoire and piano music. The concert will feature excellent opera singers from Prague, Krakow and Wroclaw, with Przemyslaw Winnicki at the piano.
