Online workshops organized by OP ENHEIM with Angelika Markul, during which the process of planning and realization of an extensive art-research project will be discussed.
Based on the artist’s practice, participants will find out: How to make an idea become a reality? How to obtain funds – grants or scholarships – for research and work production? Or – how to contact representatives of research centers and cultural institutions? During the meeting Angelika Markul will also talk about how to work with scientists and representatives of other sectors (including non-artistic ones), what are the preparations for the research trip and how her daily work looks like during the realization of her own artistic projects. The workshop is aimed at visual artists who want to improve their professional skills and to deepen their knowledge of constructing artistic projects.
Angelika Markul (born in 1977, Szczecin) – an artist living and working between Warsaw and Paris. She graduated from Beaux Arts de Paris in Christian Boltanski’s multimedia studio. Her artistic practice is anchored and focused on missing, little known or dangerous places. Markul combines facts and fiction and even science fiction. Her recent film projects were created in Japan on the island of Yonaguni, to discover a sunken monument, and in northern Mexico in the Naica Crystal Mine, which can no longer be visited.
The stream will be available on the ZOOM platform after registration, with a maximum of 20 people.
