Olo Walicki

Olo Walicki – double bass player, composer, producer. Creator of the projects OW Kaszebe, The Saintbox, Zespół Cieśni i Tańca. He plays improvised music and composes for theatre performances and films. He is associated with the environment of Tricity and Warsaw artists of the off-scene. He realises performances and projects with dance theatres. He made his debut at the age of sixteen playing in the avant-garde group Niebieski Lotnik, with Jerzy Mazzol and Jacek Olter. He participated in the trend known as the yass scene and collaborated with its creators, Tymon Tymański, Mikołaj Trzaska, Tomasz Gwinciński. He played in Leszek Możdżer's bands for many years. Between 1996 and 2004, Walicki performed and recorded with the Zbigniew Namysłowski Quartet. He co-founded the free-jazz band Łoskot, as well as the pop-alternative Szwagierkolaska, the group Oczi Cziorne and the late line-up of the band Miłość. He took part in the recording of dozens of stylistically diverse albums. Several of Walicki's own projects have been published on his own label (including Metalla Pretiosa, Olo Walicki Kaszëbë).
