They operate in a masculinized world. They know the importance of setting boundaries, enforcing rules and being in control. They have to deal with their own emotions, not minding the aggression of those they are supposed to protect. Day and night, regardless of the weather or their mood, they keep order. They drown in their work. Policewomen - the blind spot of feminist discourse. Do they stand behind their uniforms, or is it their uniform that makes them stand against the wall? It is the uniform that turns real, overworked, tired, ambitious, twisted, joyful or pedantic women into the bearers of the state monopoly on violence as if by magic. Their bodies - those scarred by cesarean sections, violent relationships, and work accidents - are transformed into a sign in the equation of democracy and patriarchy. A sign that is in fact an unknown under which different sides of a social dispute put their own values.

For what does a policewoman bring with her - safety? Violence? Order? Power? Is she a professional who has overcome barriers in a male environment? A protector who, according to the Polish police slogan, "helps and protects"? A guardian of justice? A figure of systemic evil and state oppression? A traitor to the women's cause? A victim of sexism and discrimination? Are we able to give voice to her at all - the hostage of our imagination. The performance Oficerki is a fantasy based on facts and testimonies. The rehearsals are accompanied by the group's meetings with policewomen. The clash of ideas and stereotypes with their stories became a starting point for looking at the social contract within which everyone supposedly moves. Do we actually enter into it? What do we play when we make various agreements with each other - at home, at school, at work, in hospitals and offices, on the streets? Do they give us a sense of security or the opposite? And are we able to make an agreement for something else?
