Nürnberger Gospelchor
Nuremberg's oldest gospel choir has existed since 1968 and has 45 members dedicated to African-American church music, gospels and spirituals. All members share the joy of interpreting these modern and traditional gospel songs, which have found more and more enthusiastic listeners lately.
These are mainly arrangements that have been rewritten by the choir director Gerhard Albrecht especially for this choir and that should at the same time largely preserve the originality of the pieces. The choir is accompanied by a band consisting of piano, percussion, bass, guitar, trumpet and percussion.
Concerts were not only performed in the native Nuremberg area, but also made the choir widely known in Germany. A wide audience got to know and appreciate the choir at the Kirchentage in Frankfurt, Dortmund, Berlin, Munich and Leipzig. The choir also went on several concert tours to other European countries, for example to Poland, the Czech Republic and France.
