Nubya Garcia
Hip-Hop, Jazz | Nubya Nyasha Garcia is a British jazz musician, saxophonist, flautist, composer and bandleader. She is considered one of the leading forces behind the resurgence of jazz-influenced sounds in the UK.
Raised in a creative environment built by a set of Caribbean parents, her brand of afro-tinged jazz has made her a key component in a string of new and established groups: from work with legendary jungle producer and toaster, Congo Natty, through to her own works as part of the Theon Cross Trio, six-piece Maisha, and the Nérija septet. In Spring 2017 she released her first solo album Nubya's 5ive via the imprint Jazz re:freshed. The following year she played at the NYC Winter Jazz Festival and the Jazzfest Berlin.
