Nowoczesne Niderlandy: Mondrian i De Stijl. Czy awangarda może być holenderska?

The Modern Low Countries online lecture series will open with the work of Piet Mondrian, one of the foremost creators of abstraction and Dutch Neo-Plasticism, which represented a unique Dutch contribution to the 20th century avant-garde panorama.

Lecturers:

• Magdalena Kąkolewska – founder of the Art Transfer Foundation and president of the Artystyczna Podróż Hestii Foundation. Graduate of law and art history. In 2013-20, she organised 51 art exhibitions of young artists as part of the APH Foundation. Through her activities she spreads the idea of education through art and supports young talents who make their debut in the art world. Curator, educator and lecturer. Author of a series of lectures on women artists conducted as part of the Magda's Sunday Lectures programme since 2018, a series of weekly lectures in the Transferring Arts programme since 2013, the children's programme How Artists See the World and What It Makes for Us since 2012. Lover of travelling with art.
• Przemysław Głowacki – art historian, museum educator, teacher. He has been popularising knowledge about art for over 20 years. Currently cooperates with many cultural institutions. Since 2013 he conducts a series of lectures at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. He is a lecturer at the Warsaw Film School and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He worked for many years at the National Museum in Warsaw, preparing numerous educational programmes there. Since 2016, he has been a juror of the Sibyl Museum Event of the Year Competition. His passion is visiting museums, and he is the co-organiser of thematic excursions Expeditions with Art. He runs a website dedicated to art and exhibitions artdone.pl.
