November 2nd
The band November 2nd was founded in the late 1990s in Hranice by singer and guitarist Sasha Langosova and guitarist Roman Helcl. They perform with bassist Jakub Vejnar and drummer Petr Ptacek.
Originally from Prague, the band November 2nd with charismatic singing guitarist Sasha Langosova has three critically acclaimed albums, an Anděl nomination, countless concerts in the Czech Republic and abroad and currently the opening track in the new Czech film Minute of Eternity starring Jiri Langmajer. If its previous recordings sounded like a mix of rock and alternative country, the new material, according to music journalists, moves the band towards a rockier, blues-aggressive sound, letting you remember the roots of Led Zeppelin and the present-day Jack White.
Their debut Midnight Desert (2002), for which they were nominated for the Angel Award in the Discovery of the Year category, was a decent introduction. Their second album Little Miss Behavin' & the Troublemakers (2005) earned them nominations for the annual Óčko television award in the categories Best Female Vocalist and Best Domestic Pop. In 2011 they released the album Night Walk with Me, followed by a hiatus of several years, after which they released an eponymous album in 2023. They worked on the album with Czech producer Boris Carloff. The resulting sound was handled by The Black Keys' engineer Tchad Blake and Nashville-based sound engineer John Netti, the man behind the last Rival Sons recordings.
November 2nd have toured Europe and the USA successfully and have supported such stars as Alanis Morissette, Suzanne Vega, Spin Doctors, Bryan Adams and David Gahan.
