The “NeoKlasik Martinů” online concert is focused on the important works by Bohuslav Martinů that were inspired by the musical classicism and composed in the 1950s.

The main point of the program is the Sinfonietta La Jolla for chamber orchestra and piano, which plays an important role, although it is formally a part of the orchestra. The second presented work by Martinů is the Oboe concerto, which the composer completed in Nice on request of the czech-australian oboist Jiří Tancibudek. This concerto soon became an important part of the leading oboeists’ repertoire. The neoclassicist conception of this concert will be completed by the Symphony nr. 30 “Alleluia” by Joseph Haydn, which had served as an inspirational source for Martinů, for example while composing the Sinfonietta La Jolla.

The concert will take place as a part of the NeoMartinů - concert series, which introduces Martinů´s rich neoclassicist work in form of three thematic concerts, Neoklasik Martinů, Neobarok Martinů and Neo-Jazz Martinů.
