Moribaya is created by artists, enthusiasts and travelers from Poland, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Australia. They are united by their love for traditional music from West Africa. The common passion has become the foundation of a great friendship, which is a source of joy from making music together and positive atmosphere at concerts. The band even infects with positive energy. The vivid, trance music of drums and expressive dance create from each show an eventful journey to the sources of rhythm. The band’s repertoire consists of rhythms and melodies inspired by the musical folklore of the Malinke and Susu peoples, living in distant areas of Guinea and Mali. The group performs their songs on authentic, traditional African instruments such as djembe and dundun drums, full house flute, balafon, bark, krin, carignian and djabara. The members of the band have travelled to Africa many times to absorb the local musical folklore, which allowed them to deeply penetrate and understand the culture and tradition of West Africa.
