Moonchild are an American neo-soul and jazz trio formed at the University of Southern California in LA. They are known for their spaced-out, Soulquarians-inspired grooves and the wispy, at-ease vocals of Amber Navran. The band’s line-up consists of Navran and fellow multi-instrumentalists Max Bryk and Andris Mattson. Their work is described as a combination of alternative R&B, jazz and soul. For as singular as each personality may be, they all participate equally in writing, producing, tracking, and mixing their records, collaborating as true equal partners. In the words of the band, Moonchild ‘create music for the soul’. Moonchild released their debut album Be Free in 2012 and was signed by UK electronic label Tru Thoughts, who re-released sophomore album Please Rewind in 2015 and third album Voyager in 2017. The group has played a pivotal role in expanding the group’s musical horizons and have attracted international support from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Jill Scot, Giles Peterson and many more.
