Mirek Kemel has been a musician since his youth, although he released his first album Krajem šel anděl in 2011. As a musician, he is rather introverted and withdrawn, and one would look in vain for the humour known from his cartoons in his songs. Mirek’s songwriting is serious and distinctly poetic. He has brilliantly observed small situations in life, which he manages to develop almost into a fresco of existential significance. He is not afraid of depicting stories that may be on the edge. At the same time, he likes to help himself with strongly poetic animal metaphors.
