Michał Barański
Michał Barański is a jazz double bass player and bass guitarist. At the age of 13, in 1997 Michał was noticed at a jazz workshop by Brad Terry – an American clarinettist, a great promoter of jazz, an active organizer of international workshops for young people. Michał joined Terry's quartet, together with pianist Mateusz Kołakowski and drummer Tomasz Torres. They have given concerts in the USA, gaining ground at the source of jazz. He collaborated with Zbigniew Namysłowski, Nigel Kennedy, Benny Maupin and Brad Terry, among others. He is a co-founder of The Bennie Maupin Quartet and a bass player of Adam Bałdych Quartet. He is also an assistant at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice at the Jazz Department in the double bass and bass guitar class.
