Michael's Tower
Michael's Tower, which is more than 700 years old, is one of the landmarks of Bratislava's Old Town and the third most visited site under the administration of the Bratislava City Museum. In the past it had various functions, for a long time it was part of the city fortifications and now it is the last standing city gate out of the original four. It was built before Bratislava officially became a city in 1291 with the granting of city privileges. Michael's Tower underwent a general reconstruction between 2021 and 2023 and has been opened to the public again since September 2023. The general reconstruction restored the tower's predominantly Baroque character to its outer facade.
