Matej's house
In 2004, the Central Slovak Museum, with the support of the founder of the Banská Bystrica self-governing region, proceeded with the reconstruction of Matej's house and the construction of a new exposition, the opening of which was planned to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the original exposition in Matej's house. The construction and reconstruction works of Matej's house (including the Mining Bastion) took place from October 2006 to December 2008. Within them, the wooden ceiling of the Mining Bastion was made, and the unused attic was reconstructed. Matej's house got a new look and under the leadership of the then director PhDr. Zuzana Drugová, the original function of the museum has returned to it.
