Marc Hype

Marc Hype began his DJ career, inspired by the late great Jam Master Jay, in 1988 and went through several decades of hip hop with countless releases, tours and competitions like the ITF championships, which he won twice in 1998 and 1999. Marc Hype, who initially called himself DJ hype, has been DJing behind the turntables since 1988. He used to be a member of the hip-hop group Cheeba Garden. He won the German ITF DJ Championships in 1998 and 1999, was head of the DJ collective Phaderheadz, toured all over Europe as well as USA, Japan, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, India, United Arab Emirates, Russia, Australia and Israel and published in 2003 alongside further projects his debut album 1973 * Recon with guests like Masta Ace, Souls Of Mischief, Mr. Lif, Acrobatics, Beat Junkies & Killa Kela.

Since 2004, he has been accompanied by his DJ sets and supplemented by Jim Dunloop, a studied concert pianist. Funkbreaks and Old School Hip Hop are combined with live piano performances. Together they have releases on the New York remix label Milk Crate Records. Their most famous production is a nine-minute cover of BBoy's classic The Mexican by Babe Ruth on Melting Pot Music. In 2009, Stamp Out Reality was released on Melting Pot Music with guests including Blowfly, Lady Daisey, Mr Lif, Malena Perez, Sara de Bourgeois, Mr Complex and Flomega. Nowadays he is touring the world with his record cases as part of the Dusty Donuts Dj Squad / Label, as well as the UK-based 45 Live DJ Team.
