About Malwina Paszek
Musician, multi-instrumentalist, singer. She plays several string and key instruments, with a few exceptions. Her main instrument is the hurdy-gurdy. Malwina also plays accordion, piano, various kinds of zithers, carimba and Slovak pipe, and sometimes viola. She has been involved in folk singing for several years. The main areas of vocal explorations are Wielkopolska, especially Southern and Northern Wielkopolska, the borderland with Kujawy (Pałuki), Lubelszczyzna, Kurpie and the Polish-Ukrainian and Polish-Belarusian borderland – Polesie and Podlasie. Apart from Polish songs Malwina also deals with Belarusian and Ukrainian songs. She conducts workshops of white singing, composes music for puppet theater, theater plays, silent movie shows, animations and radio plays. She is passionate about the hurdy gurdy. She cooperates with composers of contemporary music and performs new music on the hurdy-gurdy and singing with white voice. Carries out artistic and educational projects related to traditional music, singing and composition.
