About Malevolence

Malevolenec is a hardcore punk band from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, that was formed in 2010.

The band consists of singer Alex Taylor, guitarists Konan Hall and Josh Baines, bassist Wilkie Robinson and drummer Charlie Thorpe.

In June 2013 the group signed a record contract with Siege of Amida Records and Century Media. Their debut album Reign of Suffering was released at the end of 2013. The second album Self Supermacy was published in May 2017 and in comparison to the first record it sounded a lot more like Trash Metal while the songwriting was more complex as well.

The group has toured through Europe with Obey the Brave, Kublai Khan and Napoleon. In 2015 they played at the Impercon Festival in Vienna.

Their music has been described as a mixture of modern metal and hardcore punk, with similarities to Hatebreed and Lamb of God. Comparisons were also made to the music style Beatdown but singer Alex Taylor voiced that this association makes him angry.
