Makovicky's House
Makovicky's house, also known as Babušek's house, is located on the south side of the historic city center on the corner of Bottová and Horný Val streets. The house built in the historicist style belonged to the Babuškovic family. In the years 1894 - 1904, MUDr. Dušan Makovický (1866 - 1921), personal physician of the Russian writer L. N. Tolstoy, lived in the house - that is why the building is also called Makovický's house. Stay of MUDr. Dušan Makovický i remebered by a commemorative plaque. The building now houses the Regional Education Center, which organizes cultural activities, exhibitions, lectures and theater activities.
