Lokier
In her early 20s, Yoan Rodriguez had to fight hard for her place as a DJ at dark, illegal parties in Mexico. The hard schooling has paid off, as she now travels all over the world as a Lokier and can look back on quite a few releases. Her original tracks are inspired by her hometown, Barcelona (her first point of contact with European life) and also Berlin, where she now lives. Her music and style range from classic horror soundtracks to neo-gothic influences, spiced with her love for post-punk, rock, new wave, techno and electro.
She draws inspiration from the indie and post punk scenes. Yet her first EPs and remixes landed on renowned labels like Les Disques De La Mort or Throne of Blood back in 2014, and her sound has naturally ventured further and further into darker, industrial and electronic territories since she moved to the German capital. Her DJ sets follow the same principle, enriched with raw sounds and acid-charged synths, leading to more complex and heavier results.
