Aya

Aya Sinclar is a London DJ and producer. While her early work under the alias LOFT pitted the British tradition of breakbeats and bass against abstract composition, in a way deconstructing the conventions of club music, her work under her own name is better described as a total demolition and dissociation in the midst of the resulting ruins. Aya's debut album i'm hole, released by cult UK label Hyperdub, combines electro-acoustic hums with plunderphonic experiments on club sounds and unsettling, autobiographical spoken words. It's a Gregg Araki-directed animated biopic of Burial.
