Lil Peep
Lil Peep, whose real name was Gustav Elijah Åhr, was an American rapper, singer, and songwriter born in 1996 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He grew up on Long Island and began releasing his music online. His music blended emo, punk, alternative rock, and trap, and he was considered one of the artists associated with the rise of emo rap. He released his early recordings as mixtapes and EPs, including Lil Peep; Part One (2015), Live Forever (2015), Crybaby (2016), Hellboy (2016), and Castles and Castles II, which he created in collaboration with Lil Tracy.
In 2017, he released his debut studio album Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 1, followed by a European and North American tour. He died in November of that year at the age of 21. After his death, the album Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 2 (2018) was released, featuring tracks such as Broken Smile (My All), Runaway, 16 Lines, and Life Is Beautiful. This was followed in 2019 by the posthumous album Everybody's Everything, released simultaneously with a documentary film of the same name.
Further archival material was followed in 2021 by the releases Friends with Yunggoth and HIGH FASHION with Harry Fraud. In 2023, the collaborative album DIAMONDS with iLoveMakonnen was released, as well as the original version of Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 2 (OG Version). In 2024, the single HATE ME was released.
