Lazy Day

Lazy Day took its origin in 2014 as a bedroom solo project by Tilly Scantlebury. The Briton recorded her songs with the help of Garageband, released them on her various online channels and was quickly discovered by blogs and music sites. The news about this unusual artist spread so quickly that she had to assemble her now four-piece band rather quickly. The debut EP Ribbons was released in 2017 and is also based on an unusual concept with its four songs and the three eponymous and non-genre short interludes. But the question of the genre is not easy to answer in the first place. This shady garage rock is fed by Impressionistic splinters of sound, as well as straight rock, nervous drums and Scantlebury's overblown vocals. The journal Noisey drew reference to songwriter Elliott Smith, as well as the reverberating Shoegazers of Slowdive and the sensitive pop of Kate Bush. All this together makes for a small and always surprising indie rock sound miracle.
