About Lauma Skride
Lauma Skride has been playing piano since she was five years old. She began as a pupil of Anita Paze at the Emil Darzin School of Music in Riga. Under the tutelage of Volker Banfield, she graduated from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. She is a laureate of a number of international competitions (Cleveland International Piano Competition in the USA, María Canals in Spain etc.). She has appeared as a soloist with a number of European orchestras (hr-Sinfonieorchester, Dresden Philharmonic etc.). She makes regular appearances as a performer of chamber music at international music festivals and in Europe’s prestigious concert halls (Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival, Gewandhaus Leipzig).
