Laokoon
Laokoon is a rap duo from Brno.
Members of the bands Sekvoye and Killiekrankie joined together to form the duo Laokoon in 2020. The duo Laokoon took the name of a 1970 animated short film. Laokoon is the old name of the oracle of Troy who warned of an ambush by the Greeks.
The debut eponymous album Laokoon was released in 2020, features samples from the aforementioned animated film and is in the style of bedroom rap. This was followed in 2022 by Sperk, where the group decided to shift their sound to a more pop sound with clearer meanings in the lyrics, inspired by role models such as Aaron Cartier and Tobi Lou. The album was released on vinyl in a limited edition on Korobushka Records. The third album, Doping, was released in the fall of 2023 and deals with overwhelm and pressure. It features a large number of guest artists. From the founder of the label TyNikdy - Idea, to Arleta, to the multi-genre Blue Uandi.
