Some of the most famous myths about the beginnings of European civilization come from the city of Thebes. In the characters of Antigone and Oedipus, people find two figures who still play central roles in literature, philosophy, and psychology today. Their ancestors and relatives Dionysus, Laius, and Jocasta are in no way inferior to them. The tragedies of conflict contained in the Theban sagas are more than relevant today. They have been bubbling under the surface of modern society for a long time. The five-part series ANTROPOLIS was conceived as an analogy to the concept of the "Anthropocene," the epoch of man, and is a confrontation with the "monsters" inside and outside the bastion of civilization known as the city. The Prague audience will now be presented with a preview of the second part of this theatrical marathon.
