Located in the former Zenger Electrical Substation in the historical centre of Prague, the institution supports artistic discovery and research and brings the experience of art of the 20th and 21st centuries with a dynamic, contemporary programme to the widest audience possible. The Kunsthalle encapsulates three vast exhibition spaces, a design shop, a bistro and a café overlooking the Prague Castle.

Its international programme consists of temporary exhibitions, educational projects, workshops and cultural events. Through research, art collecting, support of artistic residencies and other innovative projects, Kunsthalle Praha strives for the connection of the Czech and international art scenes.

Kunsthalle Praha’s name itself reflects on the notion of the multicultural roots of Prague as a city of three nations, two languages, and one unique charm. The institution aspires to create an inspiring environment for the discovery of new perspectives on art and the world in which we live.
