Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Těškovice was built in 1863 in the pseudo-Gothic style. The building material was stone, the original roofing was slate. The founder was the owner of the estate in Kyjovice, Count Teodor Falkenheim, who contributed material and money for the construction of the church. Local citizens of the village contributed to the construction of the church with voluntary work and horse owners with their carriages. Until then, Těškovice had only a small chapel, which stood on the property of the Rěžné farm No. 23.

The sacristy was added in 1903. The Gothic main altar of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary came from the church in Hrabyně and was donated to the local faithful by Jan Bohm, the famous parish priest of Hrabyně. The picture on the main altar was painted by an academic painter from Olomouc, Mr. Hoš, a native of Těškovice. In 1906, Mr. Adolf Lazecký had the pulpit made at his own expense and the 14 paintings of the Stations of the Cross, which decorate the side walls of the church, were purchased by Mr. Matouš Krayzel. The side altar of Our Lady of Lourdes was made in 1908 by the carver František Musil from Bílovec. In the same year a baptismal font was installed, which was donated to the local faithful by Mr. Josef Řeháček. In 1909 the vault in the church was fitted with new oak beams and a new organ was purchased from the church unity in Mariánské Hory for 2400 crowns. An integral part of the parish complex is the rectory, which was built in 1909-1910, nowadays reconstructed.

The small bell on the tower dates back to 1864 and was cast in the bellmaker's workshop in Opava by František Stanke. The weight of the smaller bell is 20 kg, height 26 cm. On the bell there were pictures of St. Florian and St. John the Baptist.
