If you call your album Moral Cleansing and release it on Phase Fatales label Bite, it should be clear that you can expect EBM-influenced techno with socially critical undertones. The Iranian-Canadian producer Emad Dabiri alias Sarin, who lives in Berlin, processes his childhood in Iran during the war with the LP, musically he does this with industrial techno and a focus on syncopated basslines, dramatic melodies and Front-242 inspired cut-up sampling. His label boss and Berghain resident Phase Fatale also celebrates something: Scanning Backwards is his second LP and his first release on Ostgut Ton. Broken English Club, Oliver Ho’s EBM / Industrial alias, and many other bite friends will be present as well. Scotsman Neil MacDonald aka Lord Of The Isles Live plays in the Panorama Bar. He has managed to establish a very independent, wonderfully emotional soundscape between balearic house, cosmic electro and melodic techno. The music by Cooper Saver is similarly relaxed and friendly – the Los Angeles-based DJ regularly hosts warehouse parties with house and disco DJs in his hometown; last year he made his debut as a producer with three EPs.
