Kirszenbaum + Francis Tuan

Kirszenbaum is like Wyspiański on mephedrone. The Krakow duo enlivens the post-lindgold ruins, sets them fresh directions and throws them on the loops, with the Slavic stupid linking Tom Waits and Junip into a melancholy, intertextual carousel. Debuting in 2019 with the album "Stypa comedian" artists repeatedly appeared on the antennas of Radio Krakow and Twos, Fours and Threes of Polish Radio, took part in the Folkowisko Festival, Summer Film Academy and Green Zoo Festival, won the Synesthesia 2017 festival competition, were awarded the Competition Folk Music "New Tradition" 2018 and FAMA Festival 2018, performed on the stage of the Concert Studio of Polish Radio named after W. Lutosławski, they opened concerts of artists such as Fisz Emade Tworzywo, the Canadian project Yamantaka // Sonic Titan or Kapela Ze Wsi Warszawa and played dozens of concerts throughout Poland and Slovakia.

Francis Tuan has Polish-Vietnamese roots. This is clearly heard in songs colliding with electric, independent pop with oriental sounds that are a characteristic feature of its style. Francis sings about traveling deep into his soul, accompanying himself on the guitar, synthesizer and ethnic miracles from Vietnam. It is accompanied by an energetic rhythm section - Ajda Look-Aeah and Paweł Drygas, the director of drums and samples dancing on the bass. This original mixture was appreciated by the listeners of their debut EP Poems in 2017, as well as by viewers of festivals, such as Open'er Festival, Halfway Festival, Slot Art Festival or Opole Songwriters Festival. Francis's works have also been repeatedly presented on the Third Polish Radio Program and other radio stations. Together with the band, he is currently preparing his first LP, which will be released this autumn.
