Kee Avil is a project led by Montréal producer and guitarist Vicky Mettler: a member of Sam Shalabi’s acclaimed Land Of Kush project, alongside other experimental, improv and noise ensembles. Her first full-length Crease is a stunning debut of deconstructed electroacoustic postpunk songcraft: chiselled twitchy minimalist guitar, sinuous electronics, industrial and prepared-instrument micro-samples, furtive rhythmic propulsion, all galvanised by the anxious intimacy of finely wrought lyricism/vocals. The album was produced over a period of three years, each song written and recorded subsequently. Each represents a certain moment in time, an emotion, exercise or spontaneous idea that creates its own world.

Jano Doe is a solo project of curator, cultural manager and instrument designer Katarína Gatialová who is also a member of live-coding group 'Kolektiv' or noise groups 'Inocence' and 'Augiášův sonický chlév'. As Jano Doe, she uses homebuilt electronics to create sounds exploring limits of our auditory perception, incorporating extreme frequencies, volumes and sound event timescales, frequently crossing the barrier to physical sound perception. This sound is defined by inversions, creating the notion that the instrument is controlling the instrumentalist and where the formally sonorous becomes a representation of electrical, physical phenomena even before it is sound. Using intuitively conceived module arrangements, chaotic systems with fragile equilibria occur, always sweeping closer to the catastrophe point.
