Since 1986, Jim Jarmusch has been making short black-and-white films with a simple plot: two or more characters drink coffee, smoke and debate various topics. They are played by well-known, mostly American actors and musicians who are clearly having fun and improvising in front of the camera. The most famous of the films, starring Iggy Pop and Tom Waits, even won the Palme d'Or at the 1993 Cannes IFF. In 2003, the director decided to complement them with six new feature films. Thanks to Jarmusch, viewers can see actor Bill Murray talking to hip-hoppers GZA and RZA, or Jack and Meg from the White Stripes debating Nikola Tesla's inventions.
