Karlo
Karlo, real name Juraj Čaba, has been an active musician since 2013, when he started to perform under the name Gumbgu in the Slovak rap group Haha Crew. That same year, he released his first single under the Czech publishing house Archetyp 51. In addition to rap, he has been actively involved in production throughout his career. He is also a cofounder of the Czech Hip-Hop label called Milion+.
In 2022, Karlo was detained by the police. The reason was drug smuggling, he allegedly transported more than 1.5 kilograms of marijuana and more than 150 grams of cocaine in a paper box on the train, for which he was sentenced to 7 years in prison. Thanks to this, the slogan #FreeKarlo was created, which has since been frequently used in songs by other colleagues from the label. However, his career was not fundamentally threatened by this, as Karlo continues to create and release new music from prison.
