Cancelled: Kandyd, czyli optymizm

Candide is a familiar story. Intrigue, exile, the Inquisition, the teachings of a master philosopher, rump flogging, lovers' breakups, Paraguay and Constantinople, the pope's daughter, the wild Ushak tribe, cloak and dagger, and plot twists are all in it. The Adventures of Candide is the tale of a man sailing doggedly across the ocean of existence, and also quite the same style across an ocean quite real. It is a tale of stubborn faith in reason, which the world persistently denies; of fate, revolutions, power, and natural disasters. It is romance and black humor and a great praise of friendship. There is much that is contemporary in this short old tale.
