Kalàscima

Full of energy and fascinating Kalàscima is one of the hottest bands coming from Italy. He is composed of six friends from Salento, who grew up together to the sounds of melody and hypnotic rhythms of the magical rituals of Taranta. Kalàscima reinterprets tradition by combining original melodies with crazy electronic sounds. Tarantella originates from a dangerous for life, ancient therapeutic ritual pizzica tarantata and is associated with a local tradition called tarantism. During the ritual ceremony, the tarantists indulge in playing drums and trance dances accompanied by specially selected music, which can last several hours or even days. According to local beliefs, the tarantial state is caused by the bite of a tarantula. A spider's venom introduces the victim into an ecstatic state that can only be healed by dancing mania. Kalàscima regularly performs at many international events.
