Jo Quail

London-based cellist Jo Quail's practice combines her virtuosic command of her instrument with a talent for composing moving, evocative and complex music; she cites diverse sources from Claude Debussy and Arvo Pärt to the band Tool and Trent Reznor as inspirations. She has collaborated with composers such as FM Einheit, Eraldo Bernocchi and Poppy Ackroyd; played support slots for Boris and Amenra; and released five studio albums, the most recent of which is 2022's Roadburn Festival-commisioned_The Cartographer_.
