Jiří Pavlica & Hradišťan is a musical group with a wide range of genres and an unconventional repertoire.
Their strong source of inspiration, especially in the early days of its existence, was the folk tradition. It was founded together with a dance ensemble in 1950 in Uherské Hradiště, where many generations of musicians, singers and dancers worked under the long-standing leadership of Jaroslav Václav Stanek.
Since 1978, the artistic director of Hradistan has been a creative personality, violinist and composer Jiří Pavlica. Hradistan is a professional ensemble that works mainly with the heritage of folk tradition and its philosophical overlap. It crosses the boundaries of musical genres and cooperates with personalities of different cultures all over the world.
