Jiří Imlauf
Jirka Imlauf is the vocalist and guitarist in Houpací koně – a band from Ústí nad Labem that has been continuously playing the same song about love being a cranberry in a cream sauce since 1991. The raw sound of their guitars has always been entwined with the urge to see things from the other side; the band is often shaped by the city they live in, the “ugly yet somewhat attractive” Ústí nad Labem. The most recent album Hotel Palace is a tribute to that strange city. As a solo act with an acoustic guitar, Imlauf plays songs by Houpací koně as well as melodies the band’s repertoire does not include. He comments: “a different model, the same intensity to get it all out”.
