Jimmy Carr
Jimmy Carr is a British-Irish stand-up comedian, host, screenwriter, and author born in London in 1972. After studying at the University of Cambridge, he worked in marketing before turning to stand-up comedy in 1999. During his early years, he performed on the London club scene, and since 2003 he has appeared regularly on British television. He gradually became one of the best-known comedians in the United Kingdom thanks to his extensive touring and his work hosting shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, Your Face or Mine?, and other television formats.
In addition to his television work, he has released several stand-up specials and completed a number of international tours. Since 2016, he has collaborated with Netflix, where he has released the specials Funny Business (2016), The Best of, Ultimate, Gold, Greatest Hits (2019), His Dark Material (2021), and Natural Born Killer (2024). He is also involved in writing books, podcasts, and other media projects.
His current work is showcased in the Laughs Funny world tour, which has been running since 2024 and will continue throughout 2026 in Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand. In 2025, he launched the television projects The Big Pitch with Jimmy Carr and Jimmy Carr’s Am I The A**hole and also appeared in the film Fackham Hall.
