Janusz Wawrowski
Polish violinist, lecturer at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, artistic director of the International Chamber Music Festival "Music on the Peaks" in Zakopane. He began learning to play the violin at the age of 6. He was a student of Bartosz Bryla at the Henryk Wieniawski High School of Music in Poznan. From 1998 to 2004, he continued his studies in the class of Miroslaw Lawrynowicz - first at the Zenon Brzewski High School and then at the Academy of Music in Warsaw, from which he graduated with a diploma with distinction. He continued his studies at Kunstuniversität in Graz under Yair Kless and with Salvatore Accardo in Italy. He is a laureate of many national and international violin competitions, including the 2nd prize at the Groblicz Family International Violin Competition in Cracow in 1996 and the 1st prize at the National Competition for Young Violinists named after Stanisław Serwaczyński in Lubelskie. Stanisław Serwaczyński in Lublin, in 1997 – 3rd prize at the International Competition for Young Violinists in Kloster Schontal (Germany), in 2000 – 3rd prize at the International Louis Spohr Violin Competition in Freiburg, in 2006 – 3rd prize at the International David Oistrakh Violin Competition in Odessa. He is a multiple recipient of scholarships from the Polish Ministry of Culture.
Janusz Wawrowski shows as a soloist at chamber and symphonic concerts in the largest halls in the country and Europe (such as: Albert and Victoria Museum in London, National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Podlasie Opera and Fiharmonia in Bialystok, Sudecka Philharmonic in Walbrzych, Teatro Teresa Carreño in Caracas, Concertgebouw in Rotterdam, Großer Saal Stiftung Mozarteum in Salzburg, The Opera House in Tel Aviv, Odessa Philharmonic, Lviv Philharmonic, Sofia Philharmonic), earning favorable reviews from music critics. He performs with the accompaniment of the largest Polish orchestras – Sinfonia Varsovia, Amadeus Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra, Polish Radio Orchestra, National Philharmonic Orchestra, Aukso Chamber Orchestra, Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra, Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfónica de la Juventud Venezolana Simón Bolívar. He has played under such conductors as Gabriel Chmura, Krzesimir Dębski, Agnieszka Duczmal, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Conrad van Alphen, Łukasz Borowicz, Mykola Diadiura, Arthur Fagen and Antoni Wit.
