Iskandar Widjaja
Classical | As a world-class violinist, Iskandar connects worlds. He has already worked with the most internationally renowned orchestras such as the Deutsches Symphonieorchester- und Konzerthausorchester Berlin and the Munich, Warsaw and Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestras. In parallel, he has built a show business career in East Asia, which has led to regular television appearances, commercial advertising contracts and brand ambassador activities.
At the age of 11, he was accepted as a junior student at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin. He later studied at the Pre-College of the Berlin University of the Arts. As a teenager and student he was awarded many international prizes and today collaborates with greats of music such as Zubin Mehta, Christoph Eschenbach, Rolando Villazón , Cameron Carpenter, David Foster, and others.
At the same time, he frequently performs at mass media events such as Miss World or Miss Earth, the Davis Cup, the EXPO in Milan, Fashion Week in Paris or for the world premiere of the Suite for Violin and Orchestra Across the Stars at the Vienna Konzerthaus. In addition to the traditional repertoire, he organises the concept concert Bach and Zen in collaboration with a Zen master and works as a composer and songwriter. With influences from film music, baroque, pop and hip hop, his compositions cannot be categorised into a specific genre,
