Immersive Hackathon for Social Good
The first Immersive Hackathon will take place during the last weekend of March, from 31st March to 2nd April 2023.
VR & AR studio Yord has been leading businesses into immersive reality since 2018 and have since created 60+ unique experiences with their team, who is preparing the first Immersive Hackathon with a focus on non-profit organizations and social good projects. Since they love to support the non-profit sector, and not just with suitable immersive solutions, we decided to organize the Immersive Hackathon in collaboration with 3 Czech organizations — Nautis, Zachraň jídlo (Save the Food), and the Pod svícnem (Under the Candlelight initiative), during the last weekend of March, from 31st March to 2nd April 2023.
Practical information:
- The goal is to prototype a technical solution and show the general public how immersive technologies can help with social problems in different spheres.
- Hackathon is for all AR / VR developers, 3D Artists and 2D designers, Idea Makers, or Product / Project Leads. In short, a combination of everyone is necessary to realize an app prototype.
- Anyone can sign up for the Hackathon alone or with a team. If they apply alone, they will be paired up with other participants who are also applying without a team and put in a group so that there is always one representative for a specific job.
- There can be a minimum of 3 people on a team up to a maximum of 5 people (min. one developer)
- On GoOut, only the individual or the main person responsible for the team registers. Everyone receives a confirmation after purchasing a ticket and must fill out a short form that arrives immediately with the ticket.
- The full agenda will be published in the coming days.
- The whole event will be English-friendly, although the main language will be Czech. The program and the whole organization can be adjusted towards possible English speakers accordingly.
