Hviezda Cinema
The Hviezda cinema was opened in 1972. At the time, it was one of the most modern cinemas in the country with stereo sound. Films of all formats, from classic to panoramic, were played here. Special projection devices projected even the films with a width of 70 mm, while the classic width is 35 mm. Today, the main focus of The Hviezda cinema remains the screening of films. The head of the cinema is in charge of the dramaturgy. He selects films from the offer of film distribution companies and includes them in the program.
A separate chapter of the film screening is the screening of art films in the Naoko film club. Older films are shown here, in other words - films that will not be widely distributed. There are also various film festivals in the cinema, such as Month of Italian film, Month of French film, Night in cinema, etc. The cinema is a co-organizer of Ekopopfil, Jeden svet, Projekt 100 and others.
