In 1984, at the beginning of the Soviet perestroika process, a group of architects from Vilnius decided to form a one-off satirical band to entertain their friends on New Year's Eve. However, their colorful performance, which parodied totalitarian Soviet reality, unexpectedly grew into a movement of so-called rock marches—the vanguard of the later stage of the independence movement known as the Singing Revolution.
