Hobo Johnson

Hobo Johnson, whose real name is Frank Lopes Jr., is an American rapper and singer from California. He emerged on the music scene around 2015 and became known for his unique style that combines hip hop, spoken word, and emo rap. His lyrics are personal, often emotional, and blend humor with honesty.

His first major success came in 2018 with a viral video of the song Peach Scone, which he recorded with his band The Lovemakers for the NPR Tiny Desk Contest. The video brought him attention and opened the door to a larger audience.

His debut album, The Rise of Hobo Johnson, was released in 2017, but his greatest success came with the album The Fall of Hobo Johnson (2019). Two more albums followed in 2021 – The Revenge of Hobo Johnson and the more experimental Hobo Johnson Alienates His Fanbase.
