Hanne Hukkelberg is one of the most influential and exciting artists in the current Norwegian music scene: her EP Cast Anchor, which was released in 2003, and which also launched the label Propeller Recordings, was followed by five studio albums. Already in 2006 she was able to receive the most important Norwegian music prize (Spellemanprisen) for her album Rykestrasse (named after a street in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg). Her unique understanding of sound and her talent as a songwriter, musician and singer brought her not only a large fan base, but also a lot of critical acclaim from all corners of the world (including Pitchfork, BBC, KCRW, The Guardian, Metro, Uncut, The Quietus, Clash, Drowned In sound). Just recently, she received the “Best Music Video” award for her Embroidery clip at this year’s Bergen International Film Festival. In Germany, Hanne Hukkelberg has been touring regularly since 2004. Her next performance will be held in Berlin based Monarch.
