Gojira
Gojira is a progressive metal band formed in 1996 in Bayonne, France. The band was known as Godzilla until 2001. The members of Gojira are Joe Duplantier on vocals and guitar, his brother Mario Duplantier on drums, Christian Andreu on solo guitar and Jean-Michel Labadie on bass. Gojira's music is a head-on collision of modern thrash metal with death metal valor. Subsequently, the whole blend is spiced up with allernative techniques, which in themselves provide the band with the opportunity to play and sound differently than most of the branching hard metal scene.
Their sixth studio album Magma received a 2016 Grammy nomination in the Best Rock Album category and the single Silver in the Best Metal Performance category.
