It was autumn 2007, when Sebastian Klemm and Silvia Bonsiepe founded their gallery at Berlin-Mitte and established a space for contemporary art with an innovative conceptual approach there.
The international artists who shows their works at Klemm’s are united by a critical view on current events and the attempt to create new questions and answers about social events – in their artworks as well as through their personalities. Among others Sven Johne, Peggy Buth, Ulrich Gebert and Victoria Binschtok have been represented by the gallery.
In March 2013, the gallery relocated to Kreuzberg, to the new developing quarter around Moritzplatz. The gallery space at Prinzessinnenstraße is spacious and open with a rough atmosphere in the same time.
Besides the regular exhibitions dinners, book presentations, lectures and carte-blanche exhibitions of young curators are taking place.
Klemm’s maintains the regular publication of art books and exhibition catalogues as well as the participation in national and international art fairs such as Art Basel Miami Beach, Arco Madrid, ParisPhoto, Art Cologne or der abc Berlin.
